The tradition of the bridal bouquet comes from the days of our ancestors. It is said that having flowers at the wedding would pave the road ahead of the young couple with happiness and health. In addition, the tradition of tossing the bouquet to one of the young girls at the ceremony would uncover whose wedding is next.
The bridal bouquet is very important and it can be very difficult to choose a bouquet that will be perfect for the young bride. Fortunately, these days bouquets making is a state of the art business. Talented people’s imagination has no boundaries and florists can prove to be real artists when it comes to bridal bouquets.
For any taste, there is a corresponding bouquet. There are different styles of bridal bouquets. The most popular are the cascade style, nosegay style, arm bouquet, hand-tied style, pomander, biedermeier style, spray bouquet, strauss etc.
The cascade bouquet can be a cascade of additional beauty to the beauty of the bride. This is a large tear shaped floral arrangement suitable for tall women. The flowers are arranged downward forming a cascade resembling a teardrop. The spaces between the flowers are filled with ferns, green leafs or ribbons in order to give it the desired shape.
The nosegay style is very popular. Flowers with long stems are disposed circular, symmetrical in the bouquet and tied together with a wide ribbon. Generally, the ribbon is white or it matches the color of the bride’s dress. This gives a nice effect: from a certain distance, the flowers seem to have no stems and it provides a good grip to the bride.
The arm bouquet is also very popular. It is a bouquet made out of big flowers with large cups. The arm bouquet is cradled on one arm just like a baby. It is probably the most elegant and special bouquet style. Maybe I am saying this because it is one of my favorites, I do not know, I let you be the judge of that.
The hand tied bouquet is very elegant and classic. It wears something of the first bridal bouquet ever made. Fresh flowers with long stems tied together with a simple ribbon. The simplicity of this bouquet does not affect at all its beauty. Though simple, the hand tied bouquet is one of the most beautiful and popular bridal bouquet styles.
The bridal pomander is simply a beautiful ball of flowers. All flowers stick together in a spherical shape. The pomander style bouquet is very easy to carry thanks to its ribbons. The ribbons are tied to the bride’s wrist and the bouquet is left hanging on her delicate hand.
It is your decision what style suits you better. For your information, note that these are only some of the bridal bouquet styles out there. These styles combined will create something unique and distinctive. The flowers chosen for the bouquet are very important as well. Please notice that not all flowers are suitable for every bouquet style. You can also choose an artificial silk bouquet for a larger variety of styles. The florist will give all the further advice you need to make everything perfect.
